Scobey Girls Get Bulled Over By N.C. Mavericks

The Lady Spartans of Scobey might be feeling a bit down about the 36-point setback to the red-hot North Country Mavericks Saturday in the title game of the District 3C Tournament in Malta but the best might be yet to come.

It's a new week, a new opportunity, and new mission for Scobey, or in football terms, a fresh four downs. The quest is still qualifying for a third consecutive berth in the State C Tournament and the Spartans will have their opportunity next week when the East C Divisional Tournament begins at Sidney High School Wednesday, March 3.

At 9 a.m. North Country of Saco, Whitewater and Hinsdale (1st in 3C tourney: 18-0 overall record, 1081-492 points for/points against, 60.0-27.3 averages) clash with the Circle Wildcats (4th, 2C: 8-4, 551-376, 45.9-31.3). The Lustre Christian Lions (3rd, 3C: 9-7, 661-737, 41.3-46.0) face the Froid-Lake Redhawks (2C, 2nd: 14-6, 832-616, 41.6-30.8) at 11 a.m.
