Spartans New

Conference Champs–

Winners and new champions of the northeastern Montana football conference are the Scobey Spartans who finished a successful season undefeated last Saturday by decisively trouncing the Poplar Indians 25-0.

After the game the Scobey players grabbed Coach Butters, carried him off the field on their shoulders and then threw him under the showers - clothes and all.

Donning Spartan blue and gold for the last time were Chet Brooks, captain, Elmer Gilchrist, George Cornwell, Gordon Vanderpan, Ken Anderson and Don Sorte.
