MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DANIELS COUNTY, MONTANA, HELD DECEMBER 6, 7, AND 20, 2021.

REGULAR MEETING

December 6, 9 o’clock a.m.

The Board met in regular session, Commissioners Humbert, Lund and Linder were present with the clerk, Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Craig Miller, Road Supervisor, met with the Board regarding gravel pits in the western part of the county.

J. Perry Wolfe, Insurance agent, and Terry Farver, by phone, met with the Board regarding the new policy for use of fair property for weddings, camping, etc. Perry gave the Board the preliminary policy to review. The Sheriff’s department is willing to accept payment for campers camping at the fairgrounds. Discussion ensued regarding the Border Sports arena and the Park Board being responsible for the policies for use of that even though it is on fairground property.

Commissioner Linder made a motion to approve the agenda, Commissioner Lund seconded the motion, all present voted in favor, motion Lois Leibrand and Teresa Danelson, Public Health Department, met with the Board regarding their retirement. Lois is willing to work one to two days a week to keep up with the Public Health statistic reporting, i.e.: dog bites, communicable disease, STD’s etc., Teresa is willing to stay on as an on-call basis. The Board gave permission for them to advertise for Teresa’s position. They will continue to advertise for Lois’s position.

Logan Olson, County Attorney, met with Board regarding hiring an attorney to assist Logan with an upcoming case. A resolution needs to be done appointing a special deputy. Logan will bring it in for approval.

Commissioner Lund made a motion to approve the November 2021 minutes, Commissioner Linder seconded the motion, all present voted in favor, motion passed.

Neil Holum, Rural Fire Chief, met with the Board regarding the new purchase of the jaws of life. The County Auditor’s asked that the county pays for the equipment and the City of Scobey and Fire Department reimburse their third of the cost to the county. The bo...
