Lady Spartans Face Tough Test Friday Vs. MonDak In Westby

A close one and a not so close one for the Scobey varsity girls’ basketball team in last week’s action.

The Spartans (6-4, 374305, 37.4-30.5) hosted the Glasgow Scotties in nonconference play Thursday, January 20, and came up short by a 34-32 count.

The Class B team had the home team doubled up at 16-8 by the end of the first quarter but the advantage shrunk by one to 22-15 at intermission.

The Spartans got back into with a strong third quarter, outscoring the Lady Scots 10-5 as Daisy Hersel and Abby Willis each sank a 3-point field goal and Whitley Maher and Carrie Taylor tallied 2-pointers to close within 27-25.
