Would You Want The Government To Have More Say In Your Business?

The recently passed legislation, “Chips and Science Act,” may ultimately be a good thing if the money gets put to work rather than put in a few peoples pockets.

Over $200 billion will be invested, creating a larger deficit. $52.7 billion for chip manufacturing and research; $170 billion for scientific research, innovation and space exploration.

Some of the companies will be restricted from expanding manufacturing chips elsewhere, but we’re pretty sure there won’t be any Chinese or Taiwan chip facilities backing off either.

I’m confused why the American government invests so heavily in companies that probably don’t need the assistance. The American semiconductor chip manufacturers make billions but they won’t do the right thing by setting up shop in the U.S., unt...
