Chinook Salmon And Egg Collection Efforts On Fort Peck Reservoir

FWP fisheries and hatchery staff began collecting adult Chinook salmon on Fort Peck Reservoir the first week of October. The collection efforts coincide with the salmon snagging season which runs Oct. 1 through Nov. 30. The annual collection goal is to collect as many eggs as possible. Salmon are then raised in the hatchery and will be released back into the reservoir in the spring of 2023.
