CURLING - 'Hurry hard': In the April 13, 2023 issue of the The Sheridan County News there was a story about the sport of curling in North Dakota. The very first curling club in the Peace Garden State was established in 1901 in Drayton, located 46 miles north of Grand Forks along Interstate 29, population 746 in 2021. A March 23, 2023 news release from the office of North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum announced curling has been named the official sport of the state, which has 11 active curling clubs. That is more per capita than any other state in the union.
