SAFI And DMHF Beneficiaries Of Ruby Hanson
FOUR $50,000 CHECKS WERE PRESENTED Septem ber 7 from the Ruby Hanson memorial trust in Plenty wood. $50,000 each went to Scobey Alumni Foundation (SAFI), the Daniels Memorial Healthcare Foundation (DMHF), the Plentywood Education and Alumni Foun dation and the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation. Pictured above is Charlie Hawbaker of Scobey ac cepting a check for SAFI from Steve Howard of Plenty wood and Cooper Olson of Scobey accepting for DMHF from Casey Petersen of Plentywood. Howard and Pe tersen are Ruby Hanson Memorial trustees. The trust also grants scholarships to students in the area eachyear. Ruby was born in Malta, grew up in southern Sas katchewan where she became a teacher. She later moved to Plentywood until 1952 when she married Hen ry Hanson who farmed south of Scobey until his death in 1967 and she returned to Plentywood to retire. She died in 2001.
