Filmed in Montana, Nicolas Cage’s new movie “Butcher’s Crossing” [R] is showing this weekend at Richardson Theatre, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m.
OF LOCAL INTEREST, Laura Lovo, who lives in Scobey, was the set decorator for the movie. She moves around working in the movie industry but hangs her hat in Scobey between movies and of late, for an extended period since the writers and actors strike. Laura is known for her work on “The Old Way” (2023), and “1923” (2022). She was also one of the volunteer set decorators working at Pioneer Town’s Haunted Halloween last weekend.
