County Republicans Overcome Bourbon Landslide– The state and nation gave sharp majorities to practically all Democratic candidates on Nov. 2. John Bonner defeated Governor Ford by a large majority; Senator Murray defeated Tom Davis and will return to Congress for his fourth term.

Of the state Republicans only Congressman Wesley D’Ewart weathered the storm by a narrow margin.

Montana gave President Truman a comfortable majority to help return him as leader of the nation.

Every state office is now controlled by Democrats.
