Volunteers Took Advantage
VOLUNTEERS took advantage of warm weather on Sunday and began the task of “Lighting up Roseland Park.” One of the organizers, Leigha Fishell told us to expect many more lights than last year and new added features. Each year the group of volunteers not only donate their time but also decorations and lights. Hopefully more people will join in with monetary donations to the year-round fund established at the Daniels-Sheridan Federal Credit Union. Donations are needed for such things as lights, insurance for the wagon rides, decorations and related expenses. The last cash donations to the fund were in December of 2022. Below, the group was finishing up lighting the hedges from end to end on the west side of the park and the south side. Former residents Danne and Punky Showers spread their Christmas light show decorations around the community and to this project as well. There may be a need for other decorations in good condition and volunteers to hang them in the coming days. This year a kick-off for the lighting celebration is Sunday, December 3 involving mule team wagon rides, hot refreshments and photo opportunities among the lights.
