The week that was for the top-ranked Scobey Spartans from Tuesday through Saturday looked like this: 234-to-91, which is a 78.0to-30.3 average.

Those are the figures they outscored their trio of District 3C opponents last week to maintain an undefeated record and remain atop the MontanaSports. com and 406mtsports.com power polls.

The Spartans close out the regular season this weekend by hosting Nashua Friday at 7:30 p.m. and traveling to 5th-ranked Lustre Christian Saturday for a scheduled 5:30 p.m. tip-off, when the conference championship will be on the line.

Afterward it is on to Glasgow for the District 3C Tournament, which will also be hosting the East C Divisional Tournament two weeks later (Feb. 28-Mar. 2).

The Spartans began last week with a trip to Nashua for a make-up game that was postponed on Friday, January 12, due to nasty weather conditions.

Scobey broke away from a 2-all tie and ran the lead up to 20-5 by the end of the first quarter. By halftime the Spartans were ahead by 33 and late in the third period, when Bram Handran connected on a 2-point field goal making it 58-17, the running clock was off and running. The final score was 81-22. The boys wearing blue and gold had three players reach double-digit scoring: John Carney with 20 markers, Braxton Wolfe 16 and Handran 14.
