It wasn't the way the Scobey Spartans wanted to exit the regular season and enter the District 3C Girls' Basketball Tournament in Glasgow this week but perhaps they can use a very tight 41-40 loss to the Lustre Christian Lions as moti- vation. Played Saturday, February 10, in the Lustre Christian High School gym, the regular-season closer for both squads, this one was so close there were five lead changes, four ties and the advantage never grew higher than seven points, and that was on two occasions in the opening quarter with the Lions ahead both times.
After that it was pretty much a one-possession game most of the way, the six exceptions, which didn't last long, being: a 14-9 Lions lead at the start of the sec ond quarter on Aubri Holzrichter's field goal; a 25-21 Scobey advantage on Kaytie Aanstad's field goal; a 2823 Spartan lead on Kennadi Cromwell's right-side trey; a 33-28 Lions' lead on Lauren Fast's 2-point bucket capping a 10-0 scoring run; a 40-35 Spartan upper hand followi...
