Who Are You Picking To Win State C Titles?
From Westby in the northeast, over to Yaak in the northwest, down to Sula in the southwest and back over to Alzada in the southeast and everything else in between, it is prep hoop state tourney time across Big Sky Country. The 202324 Montana High School Association basketball seasons for girls and boys are down to the final 64 teams, 16 each in Classes AA, A, B and C.
The Daniels County Leader does not have the time throughout the entire season nor the space in this issue to preview all four, but can say we have been tracking all of the teams we felt had a very good opportunity of being in Great Falls this week for the State C hoop convention. That said, let’s get into it.
Since the Class C boys opened their 74th annual get-together at Montana ExpoPark/Pacific Steel & Recycling Four Seasons Arena Wednesday, March 6, they get the opening tip, followed by the girls, who are gathering for their 47th annual:

Lustre Christian Lions (231, 1615-788, 67.2-32.8) versus Melstone Broncs (19-5, 1308-1007, 54.5-41.9), 3 p.m.
Lustre Christian — The sole loss in the Lions’ record occurred on Saturday, January 13, in Scobey, a 53-43 final. It was on that weekend when the vast majority of the prep basketball games across the state were postponed due to brutal wind-chill factors plummeting to the minus 65 degree range. Ever since that weekend the Lions have been roaring, knocking off all opponents by combined scores of 866-414, an average winning margin of 34.8.
