Local Candidate Forum Friday 7 p.m. – Nemont Friendship Room
Local candidates have been invited to participate in a candidate forum at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 12 in Scobey at the Nemont Friendship Room (in the Museum Visitor Center).
A complete list of those who will be available to attend is not available, but school board candidates, Commissioner candidates, Sheriff candidates, Clerk of Court candidates and District Judge candidates have been extended the invite.
The forum is not a debate but rather questions to be asked and answered on how they will plan to serve in office.
A moderator will present five predetermined questions. Following candidates responses, for the sake of time, only a couple questions for each candidate will be fielded from the audience by lottery.
There is competition in each of the races. School board and District Judge races are non-partisan. All other local races are Republicans facing each other in the June 4 primary.
People are encouraged to stay and visit afterward with the candidates if they have a question that may not get to the floor during the forum. Contact Felix Gilbertson for more on the forum.
