Blue Boys Beat Red Boys By 48-24 Final Tally
The 40th annual Bob Cleverley Class C 8-Man All-Star Game was held in Butte over the weekend with the Blue defeating the Red 48-24.
Played at Alumni Coliseum on Bob Green Field on the campus of Montana Tech, the 7 p.m. opening kickoff was delayed by one hour as a lightning delay pushed the start time to 8 p.m.
Once it got going, however, the boys on the Blue team got busy scoring points.
Gage Hallock, the son of Ty and Danielle Hallock of Scobey, was a member of the Red team, as was Plentywood’s Noah Murray, who threw a long-bomb touchdown pass to Vance Winguard of Ennis for the Red team’s first score. Murray is the son of Patrick and Misti (nee: Marlenee) Murray, the latter being a 1996 graduate of Scobey High School. Noah is the grandson of Scobey’s Pat Marlenee.
Derek Gackle of Faiview was the head coach of the Red team and had five of his players on his roster: Rowan Bushnell, Brock Schlothauer, Gavin Serafini, Landen Thompson and Jeff Tjelde.
Other East C Division players on last week’s roster included: Landen Capp of Broadus; Donovan Gibbs and Arley Idland of Circle; Carson Solem of Culbertson; Ethan Frye of Ekalaka; Phoenyx Budd of Plentywood: Samuel Braden, Riley Lutts and Birch Obrigewitch of Wibaux.
