Wheat Yield Estimated At About 5 Bushels–

Daniels County wheat crop for 1949 will average about five bushels per seed ed acre, adjusters for feder al crop insurance estimate. Approximately half of the farmers carried federal crop insurance, but more than half of the wheat acreage was insured, as most of the big farmers came under the plan.

Tens of thousands of acres of grain will not be harvest ed this year, and thousands of additional acres are being cut only because this is nec essary in order to arrive at yield figures.
