CROSS COUNTRY — A repeat for Rockets?

The Leader took the Class C girls’ final results of the 2023 Montana High School Association’s State Meet held in Kalispell and tossed out all the places occupied by the now-graduated seniors. Then we took those remaining places of the juniors, sophomores and freshmen and began putting number 1 by the top girl, number 2 by the next fastest, number 3 by the third fastest, etcetera, to get some kind of idea of who could be near the top this season. Keep this in mind, though, the figures one is about to read do not include any of the current freshmen girls out for cross country this season, nor does it take into account some fleet-of-foot eighth graders who might be filling out a varsity roster in this 2024 season.
