Mary Hackmann 1933 – 2024
Mary Hackmann, 91, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on September 19, 2024 at the Billings Clinic after a short illness. She was bom on September 8, 1933 in Scobey to Peter and Nellie Tkachyk and attended Scobey School. As a teenager she worked as a waitress and a clerk at the Gorham Hotel (now Pioneer Inn). In 1955 Mary met a handsome young lad named Ernie Hackmann and were married for 65 years. To this union in 1956 their son, Danny, made an appearance and in 1960 they welcomed Valerie into the family. In 1958 she started her career with Daniels Memorial Hospital and retired in 1995 after 37 years of service. Mary very much enjoyed making quilts and poured her heart into her yard. The yard was always adorned with beautiful flowers and awesome tomato plants and, speaking of food, her cookies and donuts were irresistible and well known. Her home and yard were always kept immaculate. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and prayed for them each night. Her greatest love was for her savior Jesus with whom she now rests eternally- Mary was preceded in death by her husband Ernie; her parents; four sisters and a granddaughter, Krystal Dawn Hackmann. She is survived by her son Dan of Livingston; her daughter Valerie (Robert) Hellickson of Helena; grandchildren Jennifer, Tiffany, Scott, Eric, Adam and Kortnee; many great grandchildren; brothers Paul and Ralph; and nieces and nephews. We will see you again, Mom; this is just a short goodbye. Services were held at the Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Scobey, on Tuesday, October 1. Burial was at the Daniels County Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mary Hackmann, 91, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior on September 19, 2024 at the Billings Clinic after a short illness.
