Local Netters Won’t Be Going To State Tourney

The Scobey Spartans entered the East C Divisional Volleyball Tournament in Sidney with a perfect 18-0 overall record.

They were hoping to exit undefeated as well but it didn’t turn out that way. In fact, it was much worse as they were eliminated late Friday afternoon in a loserout match, finishing in fifth place out of eight teams.

It is the Circle Wildcats and North Country Mavericks of the Saco, Whitewater and Hinsdale communities moving on to the All-Class State Tournament at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman, which starts today (Thursday, November 14).

The first-round pairings for the Class C Tournament have the Gardiner Bruins meeting North Country at 10 a.m. followed by the Bridger Scouts and Belt Huskies facing each other at 12 p.m. The 2 p.m. match has the Big Sandy Pioneers taking on the Denton-Geyser-Stanford- Geraldine Bearcats while the first-round closer features Circle playing the White Sulphur Springs Hornets at 4 p.m.

The championship match is set for 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, while if-necessary second championship match, if needed to be played, is set for 2 p.m.
