MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DANIELS COUNTY, MONTANA, HELD OCTOBER 7, 8, AND 21, 2024.

REGULAR MEETING

October 7, 9 o’clock a.m.

The Board met in regular session, Commissioners Lund, Linder and Thievin were present with the clerk.

The meeting was called to order. Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Commissioner Thievin made a motion to approve the agenda, Commissioner Linder seconded the motion, all voted in favor, motion passed.

Commissioner Linder made a motion to approve September 2024 minutes, Commissioner Thievin seconded the motion, all voted in favor, motion passed.

Tammi Fladager joined the meeting.

The Board approved JV#’s 8648–8645.

The Board reviewed the officer reports from the Justice Court, Clerk of District Court, and Clerk and Recorder for September 2024.

The Board approved payroll for September 30, 2024.

Commissioner Lund gave a report on the MACo Fall meeting held in Missoula. There is additional money available for more bridge replacements. Daniels County has a bridge on the old spear place and a railcar bridge by Lovell’s on the list of bridges that need replaced.

The Board was asked about cleaning out cattle guards. The county does not clean out cattle guards.

Neil Holum, Rural Fire Chief, met with the Board. The siren by the firehall is not working. He was wondering whether the city or county purchased the siren. He found a place in Kansas City that has the cab and chassis that the fire department is looking for. He mentioned that a person that just moved here would work on a grant for the fire truck. The Board asked that he get in touch with her and have her meet with the Board.

Commissioner Lund said when he attended the Northeastern Montana Mental Health meeting, that there is a program for crisis prevention (AVEL) that uses a tablet that can be handed to the person in crisis so they can talk to a psychiatri...
