The Scobey boys’ basketball team couldn’t have started the 2024-25 season any better—it has a 2-0 record.

Following a pair of road games last weekend in the Coach Connors Classic in Miles City, the local lads are set to host a long-time rival in the Plentywood Wildcats in non-conference action.

The Friday, December 13, matchup in the Scobey School large gymnasium begins with the junior varsity girls’ and boys’ squads scheduled to tip-off at 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. respectively. The varsity girls have a scheduled 6 p.m. tip-off. The Lady Wildcats bring a 2-0 record into the matchup, having defeated Harlowton-Ryegate 36-16 and Jordan 28-27 in the Coach Connors Classic in Miles City. On the boys side, Plentywood defeated Harlowton-Ryegate 57-26 and Jordan 43-36 in Miles City and Friday’s tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (Radio: KCGM 95.7 FM. TV: Nemont.TV).

The Scobey boys, with nary a senior player to be found on the 2024-25 roster, took their first doubledigit lead when opening the season against the Bridger Scouts when Evan Tande sank a 2-point field goal for a 19-9 advantage.
