MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DANIELS COUNTY, MONTANA, HELD DECEMBER 2, 3, AND 16, 2024. SPECIAL MEETING HELD DECEMBER 31, 2024.
REGULAR MEETING
December 2, 9 o’clock a.m.
The Board met in regular session, Commissioners Lund, Linder and Thievin were present with the clerk. Tammi Fladager was in attendance.
The meeting was called to order. Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Commissioner Thievin made a motion to approve the agenda, Commissioner Linder seconded the motion, all voted in favor, motion passed.
Commissioner Linder made a motion to approve November 2024 minutes, Commissioner Thievin seconded the motion, all voted in favor, motion passed.
Morgan Lekvold, City of Scobey Mayor, met with the Board regarding the use of the remaining ARPA funds. The Board told him they were considering using the remaining ARPA funds ($35,206.87) for the expense of the communications tower. He asked if the City purchased a fire siren if it could be placed on the tower. The Board didn’t think that would be a problem. He also discussed possibly coming up with an incinerator for burning cardboard. The city garbage fills up one transfer site container.
The Board approved JV#’s 8658–8661.
The Board reviewed the officer reports from the Justice Court, Clerk of District Court, and Clerk and Recorder for November 2024.
The Board approved payroll for November 30, 2024.
Tammie Fladager, Clerk of Court/County Superintendent of Schools, met with the Board to hire a deputy beginning in January 2025. The approved the hiring pending the background search.
Ben Fosland, District Court Judge-Elect, met with the Board regarding office space. He would like the County to rent his law office building for the Judge and the judicial assistant office space. The Board asked the clerk to put the approval of the lease on the agenda for December 16. Ben also asked if the Board had any concerns about Logan Olson being the interim County Attorney for Sheridan County. The interlocal agreement with Sheridan County will be put on the agenda for December 16.
