If someone wants to take something positive away from the Saturday, January 11, North Country at Scobey girls’ basketball game, it is this: no team has come closer except for one to defeating the 2-time defending Montana High School Association Class C state champion Mavericks this season than Scobey did with a solid 41-35 effort last Saturday in Spartanville.

The Circle Wildcats also fell a little short by the same final margin in trying to topple the Mavericks, a 4741 verdict keeping the win streak going at 61 straight on Friday, January 3, in Roundtown.

After Scobey fell by six points North Country’s winning streak grew to 63 consecutive triumphs.
