The Scobey varsity girls’ basketball team heads into this week’s District 3C Tournament in Wolf Point on a positive note after defeating its two opponents in the final weekend of the regular season.

The first round pairings has North Country with a bye into Thursday’s semifinal round, taking on the winner of fourth-seeded Frazer versus fifth-seeded Lustre Christian, which was played Wednesday, February 19, at 12 noon in the Wolves’ Den Gym. Game two had second-seeded Circle playing seventh-seeded Dodson at 3 p.m. followed by third-seeded Scobey meeting six-seeded Nashua at 6 p.m. See the Banjo’s Club 109 bracket advertisement in this issue to fill in the blanks as the tourney progresses.

When the district tourney ends Saturday night the top four finishers will begin making plans for a trip to Sidney High School, the site of this season’s East C Divisional Tournament. The top two teams in that event will advance to the State C Tournament in Butte March 12-15.
