Victory Over Lustre Christian Means Scobey Stays Undefeated


It’s District 3C Tournament time and the Scobey boys’ basketball team is entering it undefeated after securing victories over Nashua Friday and Lustre Christian Saturday to close out the regular season.
The District 3C’s annual get-together began Wednesday, February 19, in the Wolves’ Den Gym at Wolf Point High School and by Saturday night around 9 p.m. all will know who the boys’ champion will be.
Scobey (12-0 3C, 18-0 overall) earned the firstround bye in the 7-team conference and will face the winner of number-four seed North Country Mavericks (6-6, 12-6) and number-five seed Dodson Coyotes (4-8, 8-10) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 20. Those two faced each other Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
In the bottom half of the bracket of Wednesday’s first round action number-two seed Lustre Christian Lions (9-3, 15-3) faced numberseven seed Frazer Bearcubs (0-12, 0-17) at 4:30 p.m. and number three-seed Circle Wildcats (9-3, 15-3) met number six-seed Nashua Porcupines (2-10, 3-15) at 7:30 p.m.

The top four finishers at the 3C Tournament will advance to the East C Divisional Tournament in Sidney March 5-8. From there the top two teams move on to the State C Tournament at the Butte Civic Center March 12-15.
