There is one glaring proof of evidence concerning the Scobey High School varsity girls track and field team: they appear extremely consistent.

At the indoor meet in Williston, N.D. they cohosted with Wolf Point and scored 50 points out of 10 teams for fourth place.

At the Cal Wearley Memorial in Havre they tallied 49 points out of 25 teams that scored for third place.

At last week’s 10th annual Richey-Lambert Fusion Meet in Lambert they piled up 76 points out of 20 teams for second place.

Crunch those numbers and the average is: 58 points out of 18 teams for third place!

At last week’s action in south-central Richland County the Lady Spartans worked hard to secure 15 personal records (PR) and 5 seasonal records (SR).

The Scobey boys, who placed 8th out of 16 teams, had 13 PRs and 6 SRs.

For the Lustre Christian Lions boys’ squad at Lambert, finishing in fourth with 57 points, it posted 13 PRs and 1 SR while the Lady Lions had 4 PRs and 6 SRs.

Both the Spartans and Lions are scheduled to compete in the Sidney Invitational Friday, April 18, with the first field event starting at 10 a.m. and track race at 10:30 a.m.

There are scheduled to be 30 teams representing 35 schools from two states, including: Bainville, Brockton, Circle, Custer County (Miles City), Custer-Hysham, Fairview, Forsyth, Froid-Medicine Lake, Garfield County (Jordan), Glasgow, Harlem, Heart River, N.D., Hinsdale, Lustre Christian, Mandaree, N.D., Nashua, New Town, N.D., Plentywood, Poplar, Powder River County (Broadus), Richardson-Taylor, N.D., Richey-Lambert, Rosebud, Saco, Savage, Scobey, Sidney, Westby-Grenora, Wibaux County and Wolf Point.

The following week on Friday the 25th the Spartans are scheduled to travel to Glendive for the 65th annual Shriners Invitational, with start time at 10 a.m. Then it is off to Scottie Field in Glasgow on Tuesday, April 29, for the 39th annual Nor...
