Spartans Compete At JH 3C Finale
The junior high Scobey Spartans competed in their final track and field meet of the season Wednesday, May 12, at the District 3C Meet at Scottie Field in Glasgow.
The seventh and eighth grade Scobey boys produced 22 personal records in the meet out of 33 possibilities for a 66% success rate while the Scobey girls had 21 PRs out of a possible 32 for 65.6%.
Multiple winners for the Scobey girls were Mady Willis (100, 100 hurdles, 200 hurdles, pole vault) and Kaytie Aanstad (discus, shot put) while Ivy Cole (200) and Mya Green (800) won a single event. The girls’ 4x100 relay (in order ran Cole, Neala Fjeld, Hadley Maher, Green) and 800-meter medley relay (Willis, Olivia Leininger, Camrie Holum, Green) were also captured by the Spartans. The time of 2:09.40 posted by the Scobey girls in the 800-medley relay is a new meet record, which was held for 24 years since 1997 by the Opheim Vikings.
For the Scobey boys Adrian Villa won the 100-meter dash. In the relays the Spartans placed first in the 4x100 relay (Bram Handran, Villa, Holten Girard, Carson Fishell) and 800-meter medley (Kaz Holum, John Carney, Villa, Fishell.
The Lustre Lions had a pair of double winners: Mason Hilkemann in the discus and shot put; Diek Olfert in the 800 and 1,600.
