Scobey Boys’ Home Winning Streak Concludes At 53 Games
Valley County is the new home of the streak-busters.
First it was the Lustre Christian Lions putting to a halt the Scobey Spartans
57-game winning streak on Tuesday, December 21,
2021.
Last week it was the Class B Glasgow Scotties doing the barking and biting, pounding the Blue and Gold to the tune of 60-26. It put to an end Scobey’s 53game winning streak on its home court, which began on February 5, 2016 in a 70-52 win over North Country.
The Scotties, after leading 23-16 at the half, began pumping up the volume early in the third quarter by leading 27-17. Wyatt Babb,
a 6-foot-3 freshman, drained
a 3-pointer at the 3:44 mark of the third quarter to go up by a dozen. By the conclusion of the period the Scotties were firmly in control at
39-22.
After Reagan Machart scored 29 seconds into the fourth, Glasgow went on a
9-0 run to double the home team 48-24, K.J. Ingram’s swishing three-pointer at the
6:08 mark doing the doubling.
The Scotties remained hot from the field as Babb sank a trey from the left baseline at the 5:11 mark for
a 51-26 advantage.
Junior Keigan Ingram tallied down low at the 4:32 mark, Beau Malnaa netted
a 3-pointer from the upperleft wing, Riley Smith made two free throws and Malnaa struck again with 10 ticks left on the clock for the final
34-point margin.
