SWIMMING — A look back at the Scobey Swim Team at the state meet: Rob Rouse, owner of Air Design in Scobey, is in the process of making some kind of sign for the Scobey Swim Team and asked the Leader if we knew the seasons in which the locals captured the state championship. The only one rolling off the brain was the 2013 season when the Stingrays didn't have a pool because the old one was ripped out of the ground and the new one was in the process of being built. Rob was told it'll be researched and we would get back to him. The Leader did a few days later, on Thursday, July 14, with the answer after doing the research. Scobey, to the Leader's knowledge, has won eight state titles. This story starts in 1961 when the inaugural Scobey Swim Meet was held, meaning the 2022 version, which is scheduled to be conducted this Saturday and Sunday (July 23-24), is the 62nd annual.
