The Scobey Spartans varsity boys’ basketball team played three games last week and fortunately won the most important one — the conference contest.

That was the Saturday night meeting in Scobey against the North Country Mavericks, which consists of schools from Saco, Whitewater and Hinsdale. The 46-34 victory means the Spartans remain a game behind the Lustre Christian Lions in the District 3C standings, the latter being the top-ranked Class C team in the state.
