BASKETBALL — For your information: The Leader reported about this a while back but with high school basketball fast approaching, it is worth another mention at this point. A junior high/high school rule change for the 2023-24 season says “Beginning in the 2023-24 season: Fouls, no more 1-and-1 free throws; bonus will always be two shots; bonus begins at five team fouls. Team fouls reset each quarter, scoreboard will show a maximum of five fouls per quarter. This rule change comes from the National Federation of High Schools. It will take some getting used to but please be patient with officials and scoreboard operators.”
