Their luck wasn't running real hot Saturday night in the packed Lustre Christian High School gymnasium, where the local Lions emerged a 49-39 winner, but it sure was Sunday in Glasgow when this week's District 3C Tournament's first-round pairings were being figured out.
On Saturday, January 13, when the 2nd-ranked Scobey Spartans hosted Class C top-ranked Lustre Christian, the home team emerged a 53-43 winner.
Both teams take indentical overall records (17-1) and, more importantly, District 3 conference marks (11-1) into tournament time at Glasgow High School. With both teams winning by 10 points in both games how does one break the tie to find out who gets the first-round bye?
While going through all the Taylor Point System tiebreakers Sunday at the Cot tonwood Inn in Glasgow to set the pairings for the District 3C Tournaments, the procedure finally arrived at the coin-flip stage.
It landed in favor of Scobey.
