BASKETBALL — Handran, LaBrie, Pierre and Tommerup selected for M.E.I.: The Montana Elite Invitational has selected four players from the state’s East C Division to be on the roster of its upcoming event. Bram Handran, a 6-foot-3 sophomore with this past season’s Scobey High School boys’ basketball program, and 6-foot-5 sophomore Johnslee Pierre of Lustre Christian High School are the two East C guys. Shelbi LaBrie, a 5-foot-6 junior of Whitewater High School (a member of the 2-time State C defending champion North Country Mavericks) and 5-foot-7 junior Mallory Tommerup of Plentywood High School, who helped her Wildcats’ team qualify for this past season’s state tourney, are the gals.
