The Scobey Stingrays opened their 2024 Montana Federation of Swimmers season and they didn’t have to travel far to do so.

The Plentywood Swim Meet was conducted last Saturday and Sunday (June 8-9) and both days of action were blessed with warm weather conditions.

The Sidney Tiger Sharks placed first in the team standings with 836 points while the Scobey girls and boys piled up 667 points to capture the runnersup spot. Plentywood was third with 578.

Scobey was represented by 41 swimmers over the 2-day event.

Two of them posted perfect individual scores of 42, which is 14 points for first place in three races. Twelveyear- old Siri Moran made the clean sweep by winning the 500-meter butterfly, 200-meter IM and 200-meter freestyle. On the boys' side, 16-year-old Tristan Lekvold won all three of his races, which were the 200 IM, 400 freestyle and 100 butterfly.

Also having high-scoring success for the girls were 8-year-old Harper Hansen with 40 points, 10-yearold Ariana Maldonado 35, 13-year-old Ava Stentoft 31 and 12-year-old Willa Fishell 30.
