CROSS COUNTRY — Forty-one years ago: SomeresearchontheScobeyBluesneededtobedone in the 1983 Leader book, which has all of that year’s issues. While researching the Blues in the September 22, 1983 issue spotted on page 12 was a photo and article on a cross country meet titled: Flaxville host cross country. The photo looking south/southwest, snapped by the Leader’s Milton Gunderson, shows about 25 junior high girls and boys starting their combined race heading north with the townsite in the background, including one of the elevators and part of the Flaxville School building.
