Michelle DeVoe and Ed Acheson are on a bike ride.

An extremely long one! What started in San Diego, California Thursday, March 21, 2024, by Friday, July 5, the two were in Scobey, Montana. The Leader, , getting a tip they were in the city, made contact with them as they were departing Tande Grocery, day 90 of their loop around the continental United States.

When departing California to begin Riding the Perimeter, the name of their long bike ride, they entered U.S. Highway 101, passing through Los Angeles and San Francisco and seeing the coastline all along the way.

The most northwestern part of the continental U.S. they went through Cape Flattery, Washington, the very northwestern corner of the United States. Then they headed east on Highway 20 through the Cascades, leading down to Sandpoint, Idaho. From there they started peddling on Highway 200, rolling through the Montana communities of Plains and Missoula and hanging a left, still on Highway 200 traveling through Lincoln, Great Falls and Lewistown.

When departing Montana’s most centralized city they rolled right by a huge collection of bicycles, a huge number of used twowheelers most bike stores do not have in stock (get on their blog site at perimeter24. com to actually see just how many bicycles we’re talking about, plus one can read their entries throughout this extremely long journey).

It was around 9:40 a.m. and 59 degrees with an expected high temperature calling for 72 degrees with the wind blowing out of the west at 6 miles per hour, with a possiblity of reaching 17 mph.
