BASEBALL — A little bit more on American Legion Baseball: The year 1975 was the 50th anniversary of the American Legion Baseball program throughout the United States. The current 2024 season is the 99th, meaning next year will be American Legion Baseball’s 100th birthday. How about that? Locally speaking: Scobey’s first American Legion Baseball team was organized in 1930 and the first season the team nickname Blues was used was in 1977.

BASKETBALL—Montanagirls,Wyomingboys sweep: The 2024 Midland Roundtable Montana-Wyoming All-Star Basketball Series was held in Gillette and Billings. The Montana women made a clean sweep by winning 90-68 Friday in Gillette and 76-35 Saturday in Billings. Saco’s Teagan Erickson scored 17 and 6 points respectively and Whitewater’s Paige Wasson 13 and 14. Montana extended its winning streak to 15 games and lead the series 41-13.
