Clarinetist Gilbert Honored A couple more community milestones were achieved over the weekend on the western outskirts of Scobey.

Held Saturday and Sunday (June 29-30), the annual Pioneer Days & Antique Show featured two Dirty Shame Shows on Saturday and two more on Sunday in the historic Rex Theatre, meaning the community celebrated its 58th year of the event.

This year’s Dirty Shame Show was dedicated to the late Joanne Gilbert, who played the clarinet and sang for decades in the Dirty Shame Dixieland Band during the annual Pioneer Days weekend.

During those two days last weekend were four Dirty Shame Shows at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. featuring, among many other things, the glamorus Dirty Shame Belles. They were celebrating their 62nd anniversary. In addition the show featured comedy skits and musical ensembles, including the great Dixieland Jazz Band.
