Interactions in August 2024 at the Wibaux Visitor Center were down for the first time this year at the Wibaux Visitor Center east of the townsite. There were 2,109 visitor encounters in August compared to 2,497 in July, a decrease of 388. There were 2,109 interactions, 1,990 registered guests and 6 unregistered guests, plus 113 maps were taken from the Overnight Kiosk. Of the registered guests, 1,874 were from the United States, 122 from Canada and 25 from foreign countries. The top five states for registered guests were: Minnesota 337; North Dakota 199; Washington 131; Wisconsin 121; Michigan 113. It was the third straight month Minnesota topped sign-ins.
