THE SCOBEY HIGH SCHOOL … THE SCOBEY HIGH SCHOOL …

THE SCOBEY HIGH SCHOOL varsity football team put together a tremendous run in the 2024 playoffs but it ended on a very cold day in Fairview during the semifinals, where the Warriors were 18-6 winners. It was just a few week’s ago when word arrived the Spartans were the Class C 8-Player recipients of the Stockman Bank Team Sportsmanship Award, which is a collaboration with the Montana High School Association. It’s an award earned by just five MHSA football teams out the 72 total teams qualifying for the 2024 playoffs (12 each in Class AA and Class A and 16 each in Classes B, C-8 and C-6). This award recognizes teams that showcase exceptional sportsmanship throughout the postseason. These are teams standing out not just for their performance, but for their respect, positivity and integrity on and off the field. The 2024 Spartans gathered last week in the Scobey School large gymnasium for one final team shot of the season with their muchearned award. Front row from left are Konner Oller, Bridger Larson, Cooper Axtman (holding the award), Brecken Maher, Blake Lekvold; second row, Holton Girard, Kolten Machart, Torsten Lamb, Ryan Halverson, Sebastian McGowan, Liam Leininger; third row, Evan Tande, Enzo Righi, Reese Tande, Cam Cromwell, Jacob Bekker; fourth row, Clay Southland, Asher Handran, Heath Cahill, Nicholas Turner, Teagan Fishell. Not pictured are players Aiden Norby and Ayden Stentoft, videographer Seth Halverson, Head Coach Brock Berryhill and Assistant Coaches Mike Euken and Lucas Knight (the latter also the Activities Director). This award says it all about this team’s character! Tremendous job Blue and Gold! — Scobey School photo
