MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DANIELS COUNTY, MONTANA, HELD MARCH 3, 4, AND 17, 2025.
REGULAR MEETING
March 3, 9 o’clock a.m.
The Board met in regular session, Commissioners Linder, Thievin and Fladager were present with the clerk.
The meeting was called to order. Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Commissioner Thievin made a motion to approve the agenda, Commissioner Fladager seconded the motion, all voted in favor, motion passed.
Commissioner Fladager made a motion to approve February 2025 minutes, Commissioner Thievin seconded the motion, all voted in favor, motion passed.
The Board approved the officer reports for February 2025.
The Board approved payroll for February 28, 2025.
The Board approved JV#’s 8677--8679.
The Board reviewed the Delphi Access request letter, Commissioner Thievin made a motion to sign the request letter, Commissioner Fladager seconded the motion, all voted in favor.
Mary Nyhus, DES Coordinator, met with the Board to present the Eastern Montana Region Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The Board reviewed Resolution 2025-6, Adopting 2024 Eastern Montana Region Hazard Mitigation Plan, Commissioner Fladager made a motion to approve resolution 2025-6, Commissioner Thievin seconded the motion, all voted in favor, motion passed.
Mary presented an updated job description for DES Coordinator. Judge Ben Fosland met with the Board regarding office space in the courthouse. LeeAnn Danelson and Mary Nyhus were also present. Commissioner Fladager told him that she talked to the court administrator in Helena and was told if the county has room for him in the courthouse and he doesn’t choose to move into the courthouse then the county is no longer responsible for renting him a space. He stated that because he was given only an hour’s notice about the meeting today, he really hadn’t had time to come up with a different solution. He is requesting extra time to work out the logistics but could possibly transfer ownership of his building to the county while he continues to be the judge with the condition that the county reverts ownership wh...
