We’re Working to Earn Your Loyalty and Friendship . . . Be Here For Us & We’ll Continue To Be Here For You! WHEATLAND L ODGE The Wheatland Lodge along Highway 13 at 514 Main Street on the south end of Scobey features clean, friendly and affordable lodging. Call 1-406-487-2765 to make your reservation now or visit the website at www.wheatlandlodgellc. com for more information. Pay a visit and check out the roomy two-bedroom units. The newly updated rooms will give one the feeling of an upscale hotel without the higher cost, starting at $70 per night. Featuring 10 two-bedroom units, the “lodge” is a clean and quaint little historical building located along Main Street. The lodging facility was built in 1952 by the Chet and Mary Juel and called the Juel Motel. Just like 71 years ago, the current owners pride themselves in offering visitors of Daniels County clean, friendly and affordable accommodations. HERE IS A LOOK at the Wheatland Lodge on the morning of Tuesday, November 21, 2023 around 8:45 a.m. There might be only two vehicles in the parking lot but every room but one was occupied by out-of-state hunters who were gone eating breakfast or already out in the field. Below, Twyla Holum (left) with grandson William Crocker—”the little helper boy”—and Whitney Crocker pose in the spacious lobby of the Wheatland Lodge. It used to be the Juels’ living room but now greets guests with more than enough room for all. At bottom is one of the suites. — Leader Photos, mike Kent and Twyla Holum are the current owners, having purchased the motel in 2018. Kent has lived in Scobey his entire life and wouldn’t have it any other way. He has worked full time for Thievin Auto Body in Scobey for the past 22 years and also helps out area farmers during spring work and harvest. He, along with son Mason Crocker, handle the majority of the maintenance at the Wheatland Lodge. Twyla, along with daughter-in-law Whitney, co-manage the Wheatland Lodge, clean and maintain the rooms and handle the day-to-day operations. Twyla and Whitney are also co-owners of Jitters, a specialty coffee stand in Scobey just a few blocks south of the Wheatland Lodge along Highway 13. They enjoy the simple life that a small city has to offer. Taking pride in every job they do, one can be assured the Wheatland Lodge is no exception. The two-bedroom units have been recently updated and feature individual sleeping quarters for those who want a little more privacy, with the beds being two queen-size. Cancelling 24 hours before the day of one’s scheduled check-in will result in no charge. Failure to cancel a reservation 24 hours before one’s scheduled check-in will result in a charge of one full night. “No Shows” will also be charged for one full night if one does not show up by 3 p.m. the day after one’s scheduled check-in. The Peak Season (September 1 through November 1) cancellation policy is as follows: Reservations must be cancelled a minimum of seven days in advance will result in a charge equivalent for half the full reservation. “No Shows” will also be charged for half of the full reservation. Checking out earlier than one’s scheduled check-out date will result in a charge of HALF of the remaining reservation. No exceptions! The location of the Wheatland Lodge is in the heart of small town USA as Scobey is home to the famous Pioneer Town museum and Pioneer Days (usually in June 22-25 time frame), as well as acres of prime state-hunting land. The very successful hunt rush has pretty much wound down in the area but as of the morning of Tuesday, November 21, when these photos were taken, all but one room at the Wheatland Lodge was filled with hunters. While on the subject of hunting, the Wheatland Lodge has a deer-hanging station and bird-cleaning station on the south end of the Lodge for its hunting guests. Make that reservation today for the fun one will have later by calling 1-406-487-2765. If WE don’t help our community WHO will?
