DC VISION It was January 2002 when optometrist Jon Kolstad (pictured right) took over the D.C. Vision Clinic located at 204 1st Avenue West in Scobey, purchasing the business from Dr. Michael Buckingham of Plentywood. Kolstad, a Wolf Point native, also owns The Eye Clinic in Glasgow (228-8641) and Roosevelt County Vision in Wolf Point (654-2001). He works Tuesdays in Wolf Point and Wednesdays in Scobey, where he is assisted by Anena Anderson (pictured left). “I love coming up here,” he said of his weekly trips to Daniels County. “The people are great and I appreciate them very much. It’s refreshing to come up to Scobey because it breaks up my week in Glasgow. This is a wonderful community.” The D.C. Vision Clinic is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 1-5 p.m. Services include: one-year eyewear warranty; complete frame repair; full contact lens service including colored, bifocal and toric contacts; diagnosis and treatment of eye infections; foreign body removal; full glaucoma detection and treatment; temporary and permanent treatment of dry eyes; comprehensive diabetic eye evaluations; pre and post surgical cataract care; macular degeneration evaluation; refractive lasar consultations; minor lid surgical procedures. Dr. Kolstad, whose favorite food is prime rib and favorite holiday Fourth of July at Fort Peck Lake at the family’s cabin in Park Grove, received his Bachelor’s Degree and his Doctorate from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, located a few miles west of Portland. After completing his residencies in Portland and at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, he moved in 1995 to Glasgow and eventually established The Eye Clinic. He is married to Cindy (nee: Page), who also grew up in Wolf Point, and they have four children: Jake 27, Abbi 26, Josie 21 and Jack 19. His favorite hobbies include bowhunting elk, shooting gophers, camping on Fort Peck Lake and spending time with family. He also enjoys fishing and "loves sports," including baseball and high school basketball and football, keeping an “eye” on his favorite Class B and C teams.
