SPORTS S TUFF Sponsored by LPL Financial VOLLEYBALL — And their averages were: : The Scobey High School girls’ volleyball varsity team swept through the 2024 regular season by going 11-0 in District 1 conference play and 14-0 in overall play. The Spartans scored 1,074 offensive points in their 14 regular-season matches, a 23.8 per game average, and allowed 713 points on defense, a 15.8 per game average. Here’s a suggestion: just keep those kind of numbers in play this week at the East C Divisional Tournament in Sidney (November 7-9) and hopefully at the All-Class State Meet in Bozeman November 14-16 and great things will happen! CROSS COUNTRY — D.C. Leader version of a thank-you card (for all our readers to see): The Leader would like to thank Danielle Fladager—you remember her from her photo on the front page of the October 24, 2024 issue of the Leader for running in Utah, don’t you?—for all the cross country photos she sent us during this past cross country season. It was very much appreciated because it meant the sports editor didn’t have to be at some of those meets and instead had a few Saturdays off during the late summer, early fall season. Again, thanks a million... make that a billion!
