How are those RMC (Billings) ladies doing? Rocky MountainCollege Sports Information Director Brandon Stinson has been exceptionally good about sending info to the DC Leader Honestly, we don’t print all of it but we print enough of it. His latest “transmission” to the Leader packed its greatest punch of the young season. For instance, through seven games 5-foot-5 guard Gracee Lekvold (SHS ‘21) was averaging 10.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 35.7 minutes in six games, starting all of them. Seven-point-5 rebounds per game from someone who is 5-foot-5? What a scrapper! That’s extraordinary! Sydney Dethman, a 6-foot-3 senior forward who played for the Froid-Lake Redhawks and Fresno State), is averaging 13.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists for RMC. Paige Wasson from Whitewater, a 5-11 freshman, is averaging 10.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists. Three East C Division young ladies getting it done at the college level for the Battlin’ Bears! MISCELLANEOUS — Meet the new East C Division: At its November 25 meeting the Montana High School Association’s Executive Board approved a proposal for realignment for Class C basketball, volleyball and track/field, and to say the least, it’s quite interesting. In the new East C Division, with the districts to be determined in January 2025, will be these schools: Bainville, Broadus (Powder River County), Brockton, Circle, Culbertson, Ekalaka (Carter County), Frazer, Jordan (Garfield County), Lustre Christian, Medicine Lake-Froid, Nashua, North Country (Saco, Whitewater, Hinsdale), Plevna, Richey-Lambert, Scobey-Opheim, Savage, Terry,Westby-Grenora (MonDak) andWibaux. The newcomers to the East C will be Broadus, Ekalaka, Jordan, Plevna, Terry and Wibaux, who were previously in the South Division. If one is wondering why Dodson wasn’t listed, it is because the Coyotes will be setting up shop in the North Division. Joining them will be Augusta, Belt, Big Sandy, Box Elder, Cascade, Centerville, Chester-Joplin-Inverness, Dutton-Brady-Power, Great Falls Central, Hays-Lodgepole, Heart Butte, Highwood, North Star, Simms, Sunburst, Turner and Valier. In the South Division will be Absarokee, Bridger-Belfry, Broadview-Lavina, Custer-Hysham, Forsyth, Fromberg, Grass Range-Winnett, Harlowton-Ryegate-Judith Gap, Melstone, Moore-Hobson, Northern Cheyenne (Busby), Park City, Plenty Coups, Reed Point-Rapelje, Roberts, Roy-Winifred, Stanford-Geyser-Denton-Geraldine and White Sulphur Springs. The West Division will be Alberton, Charlo, Drummond, Gardiner, Harrison, Hot Springs, Lincoln, Manhattan Christian, Noxon, Philipsburg, St. Regis, Seeley-Swan, Sheridan, Shields Valley, Superior, Twin Bridges, Two Eagle River, Valley Christian, Victor and West Yellowstone.
